PS4 and Xbox One GTA V teased by Rockstar

Rockstar refused to rule out a PlayStation 4 and Xbox One version of its hotly-anticipated crime caper, Grand Theft Auto V.

Speaking in light of the Grand Theft Auto Online info drop yesterday, the industry giant made it clear it doesn’t have any concrete plans for next-generation platforms yet, but didn’t rule anything out, either.

“We’ll get the current gen version out first and see what happens in the future,” the company said during a chat with CVG.

GTA Online is the fully-fledged multiplayer companion to GTA V, and as very much a standalone game in its own right. Launching on October 1 – with free access delivered in every copy of GTA V – GTA Online lets you team up with other gamers to perform missions, craft your own races and deathmatches and customize your own apartment among many other things.

GTA V meanwhile launches on September 17 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and features three playable protagonists – a first for the venerable crime franchise. In addition, it also boasts the largest game world ever created by Rockstar, topping the likes of Red Dead Redemption and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas in terms of scope.
