Derek Osgood, Sony Computer Entertainment America’s (SCEA) associate product marketing manager, has said that a PlayStation 4 version of Beyond: Two Souls won’t materialize for a long time – if it happens at all, that is.
Quizzed if the PlayStation 3-exclusive adventure title would make its way to Sony’s next-generation machine, Osgood told users on the PlayStation Blog:
“Sorry, lot of questions on this, we know you guys are curious. What I can tell you is that if there is a PS4 version of Beyond, it won’t be available for some time. The team just finished the PS3 version and still have work to do on the pre-order DLC.”
Elsewhere, fans also asked Sony if the Quantic Dream title would be available to download on release day.
“Can’t confirm anything on digital release at this point,” he said.

PlayStation Move support is something a lot of readers were keen to ask about, but at the moment at least it seems there are no plans to include functionality for Sony’s motion controller in Beyond.
"At the moment, there’s no plans for Move support. We love the Move as a peripheral and a lot of people loved it in Heavy Rain, but timing became a factor during production and thus Move support was one of the non-critical features that couldn’t be implemented," said Osgood.
Beyond: Two Souls is scheduled to ship for PS3 in October, and stars Hollywood heavyweights Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe. The game takes place across 15 years of the life of Page’s character, Jodie Holmes, who possesses unnatural powers and has been accompanied by a mysterious entity for the majority of her life.
