Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto V has joined its 2008 predecessor as one of the highest-rated video games on website Metacritic.
The open-world crime sequel hits store shelves today, and has already garnered a 97 and 98 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, respectively, putting it neck-and-neck with the multi-million selling Grand Theft Auto IV.
Rockstar must be feeling pretty chuffed with itself right about now, seeing as how two of its games are now the top two highest-rated titles on the site.
GTA V boasts the largest game world in Rockstar history, and introduces three playable characters into the mix: Franklin, Michael and Trevor. In addition, it is also supplemented by the multiplayer-centric Grand Theft Auto Online, which launches in early October.
