Customers who pre-ordered PlayStation 4 after the date of August 6, 2013 will definitely receive their console in time for Christmas, says Fergal Gara, Managing Director at Sony Computer Entertainment U.K. (SCE UK).
Sony previously stated that PS4 pre-orders placed after that date may not receive their product at launch, prompting speculation as to whether the console would arrive by the holidays.
However, speaking with CVG, Gara said, “everyone who has put down a pre-order so far will definitely get one before Christmas, as long as nothing goes terribly wrong.”
He added: “if things keep going well we’ll delight even more people on day one We don’t want to over-promise and under-deliver, we want to do the opposite.”
The executive also pledge that come 2014 stock will be replenished enough to fill store shelves.
PS4 is scheduled to ship in the U.K. and Europe on November 29, and will arrive in North America slightly earlier on November 15.
