Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag’s downloadable content and season pass plans have been detailed today by Ubisoft.
Gamers will be able to enjoy a self-contained story spanning nine missions for the pirate-themed action-adventure title, starring Adewale, the first mate of Captain Edward Kenway.
This campaign will pack three hours of gameplay, and sees Adewale shipwrecked in Saint-Domingue . Here, Kenway’s first mate finds himself battling his former captors and attempting to liberate the local slaves.
Black Flag’s season pass also includes additional single-player content, as well as new weapons, skins and collectibles. On the multiplayer side of things, players can look forward to kitting the Jackdaw out with all sorts of customizable goodies via the Kraken Ship Pack.
Ubisoft has yet to staple-gun a price point to the season pass, though did say that forking out for the pass will save you 20 per cent off purchasing the DLC separately. All post-launch content will arrive before March 2014 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Wii U plans are currently unknown.
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is scheduled to ship in the U.S. for current-generation consoles on October 29, and in Europe on November 1. Next-generation versions will arrive in late November.
Black Flag takes place in the early 1700s during the ‘Golden Age of Piracy’ and sees gamers stepping into the well-worn boots of pirate-turned-assassin, Edward Kenway. Here, you’ll sail the high seas in search of loot, ancient ruins and lost treasures as you battle against fellow pirates and Templars on board the Jackdaw.
Ubisoft recently said that a PS4 version of the game was planned early on in the game’s development.
