When Ubisoft announced the delay of its E3 2013-award-winning Watch Dogs to Early 2014, PS4 pre-order customers were understandably jilted, as Amazon’s popular PS4 launch bundle containing the open-world shooter was cancelled in kind. However, Amazon responded by switching all bundle pre-orders to the otherwise sold-out PS4 Launch Edition bundle, and is now offering an additional recompense to customers who originally pre-ordered the Watch Dogs bundle: $10 toward select PS4 games.
The email notice was received by our own Ernest Lin, who was among those switched to a PS4 Launch Edition pre-order when the Watch Dogs bundle was cancelled. The offer, which will take the form of a promotional balance automatically deducted from a customer’s next eligible order, applies to the following PS4 games:
Killzone: Shadow Fall
Call of Duty: Ghosts
Battlefield 4
NBA 2K14
Madden NFL 25
FIFA 14
Knack
The $10 promotional credit is a nice gesture to potential PS4 owners now deciding what their first game will be, but it’s surprising that Watch Dogs was even delayed to begin with. At both E3 2012 and E3 2013, the game had a tremendous showing, winning our Best Game of Show award both years. For more detailed impressions of our E3 demo, check out Jon Ottman’s preview.
