PS4 won’t allow custom wallpapers

President of Sony Worldwide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida, has informed new PlayStation 4 owners that the brand’s latest iteration won’t allow custom wallpapers, unlike PS3 and PS Vita before it.

The issue came to light when Yoshida-san was asked on Twitter, "On the PS4 can you use any picture as your wallpaper?" Yoshida’s reply was a straightforward, "No." Neither Yoshida nor another Sony executive has yet to expand on why the feature has been removed from the brand and whether the ability might be added later.

However, PS4 wallpaper issues might not be a huge concern for new owners, given that they face a 300 MB download on launch day to unlock their console’s full potential.
