GTA V beats lifetime sales of GTA IV in just six weeks

Take-Two has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto V has passed 29 million copies shipped to retailers since it released worldwide back on September 17.

In its latest press release, which shares the fiscal results for the year’s second quarter, the company confirms this amazing figure by stating, "The title received stellar reviews, shattered entertainment industry records, and has already sold-in nearly 29 million units to date. The extraordinary success of Grand Theft Auto V illustrates the positive momentum in our business and consumers’ enduring appetite for the highest-quality interactive entertainment."

That figure is higher than the lifetime console sales of Grand Theft Auto IV. That’s right–Grand Theft Auto V beat Grand Theft Auto IV’s lifetime sales in six weeks.

Now, Rockstar, how about a PS4 version?
