It has emerged that Gran Turismo 6 sold only a fifth of the launch copies as its predecessor achieved back in 2010, reports Eurogamer.
Earlier today we reported that the Polyphony Digital racer debuted at a rather lacklustre 8 on the U.K. All Format Chart following its hotly-anticipated launch on December 6.
However, despite arriving just three years after GT5 - a massive achievement considering just how long 2010’s critically-acclaimed racing title took to make - the game didn’t quite achieve the same impact at retail.
Creator Kazunori Yamauchi indicated a few weeks ago that the next installment in the venerable racing franchise will be released as early as 2014 for PlayStation 4.
