Rumor: two Assassin’s Creed titles in the works for 2014

According to Examiner, Ubisoft reportedly has two Assassin’s Creed titles in development for 2014.

Sources tied to both projects report that one game will release exclusively for next-generation consoles (PlayStation 4 and Xbox One), while the other will represent the current batch of consoles (PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360). It was also mentioned that the series was going under a "massive re-scope." Sources did not elaborate on what this means.

When approached to comment, an Ubisoft spokesperson told CVG that "the company does not comment on rumor and speculation."

The Assassin’s Creed series has seen an interesting fluctuation of change, some for the better, and some for the worst. Despite the recent critical success of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, it’s not offbeat to feel that the franchise is laboring a tired formula and stagnant rhythm. This is inherently attributed to the annual release plan.
