The next chapter in the Mortal Kombat franchise will feature 24 actor Kiefer Sutherland, according to an interview with the star over at IGN (via Eurogamer).
Sutherland, who controversially replaced David Hayter as the voice of Snake in the forthcoming Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, said his role in the as-yet unannounced fighter was over “pretty quickly compared to [MGS5].”
“I did Mortal Kombat, and that’s such a huge game, but it’s so not like [MGS5],” he continued.
Mortal Kombat was given the reboot treatment in 2011 courtesy of NetherRealm Studios. A sequel has been talked about ever since, though nothing has materialized as of yet. Ed Boon and co. followed up MK with superhero beat-’em-up Injustice: Gods Among Us last year.
