The development studio headed by Assassin’s Creed producer Jade Raymond has confirmed it has five projects in the works, two of which are being handled by multiple Ubisoft studios.
“There are definitely a lot of plates spinning,” said Raymond, speaking at the SXSW expo in Texas (via GamingBolt). “None of them have been announced.”
“Our business is making games,” she continued, “so we have to make sure we’re making good games, first and foremost, I don’t think we can think out the gate, ‘How is this going to be a good movie?’ I don’t know anything about movies. I’ve never made a movie in my life.”
In addition to console releases, Ubisoft is also focusing attention on the handheld and mobile markets.
“A good game on those devices is different from a good game on consoles, so I definitely believe they deserve their own franchises,” said Raymond.
The next chapter in the Assassin’s Creed series, Ubisoft’s flagship franchise, is currently in development and should receive a formal announcement at some point this spring.
