Namco Bandai Games Taiwan announced the Taiwanese version of PlayStation Vita game Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment will feature both traditional Chinese and English subtitles.

While about a month after Japan’s April 24 launch, the Taiwanese release on May 29 will give Sword Art Online fans abroad the ability to understand what they’re playing sooner, if at all. As of now, the game is not confirmed for localization for outside Japan. The Taiwanese version will contain the original Japanese audio with the dialogue and menus able to be displayed in English.

Importer-favorite retailer Play-Asia.com is currently taking pre-orders.

Hollow Fragment is based on the author Reki Kawahara’s Sword Art Online light novels, which spawned a popular anime adaptation in 2012. It features a new character named Philia and is the sequel to the PSP game Sword Art Online: Infinity Moment, which contains an alternate story to the one featured in the books and anime.

Sword Art Online’s premise is about players who become unable to escape a virtual reality MMORPG game alive unless they complete the game. The anime is currently available for streaming on Netflix, Hulu, and Crunchyroll with the a new second series set to debut in July 2014.
