A new title in Ubisoft’s Prince of Persia series is currently in development claims French website Le Portail du Jeu Video.
A screenshot leaked in January, alongside rumours that the next game will be set in The Sands Of Time universe, wasn’t proven and was actually rumoured to have been taken from Devil May Cry, but the new information is a little more specific, claiming that the next iteration will utilise the same animation techniques as used in Ubisoft’s Rayman series with the UbiArt Engine.
The Videogamer translation reveals that the new Prince of Persia will use "the same techniques of animation [as used] in the last Rayman" and see the Prince’s body "divided into several parts (torso, pelvis, leg, shin, foot, forearm, hands, etc..) that can be animated independently of each other.”
The last game in the series was Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands which was released in 2010 and coincided with the launch of the live action movie.
