Microsoft reckons Sony will have a ‘good’ E3

Microsoft and Sony may be rivals, but that hasn’t stopped the platform holders from congratulating each other from time to time, particularly in light of the release of PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

With E3 just around the corner, Microsoft has reached out to its long time rival once more, stating its belief that Sony will have a positive showing in Los Angeles next week.

Writing on Twitter, Phil Spencer, the newly-appointed boss of Microsoft’s Xbox Division, reacted to comments suggesting Sony might be intimidated by his new position.

“I don’t think Sony is intimidated,” said Spencer. “Sony is great brand and strong team. Competition is good, they’ll have a good E3.”

Elsewhere, he also challenged analyst Michael Pachter’s predictions of a rather mediocre E3 performance from the Big M.

“Ahh that michaelpachter guy, he’s a friend. I’ll see him after our briefing, we’ll see if our show matches his predictions.”

Sony’s E3 shindig kicks off on Monday, June 9. We’ll be there to bring you all the latest PlayStation news as it drops from L.A.
