Last year’s Tokyo Game Show was a huge event that set an attendance record of nearly 200,000 visitors, making it by far the world’s largest gaming convention.
The show proved to be especially memorable as it was the first place where an actual in-game demonstration of Metal Gear Solid 4 was unveiled, as well as a slew of other great PSP, PS2, and PS3 announcements. With 2008 speculated as the takeover year for Sony, TGS 2008 will be just as big, as will the possibility for in-game demos of Final Fantasy XIII and much more.
This is why we are pleased to hear the dates for the 2008 show, and can reveal that this year’s event will take place from October 9 – 12. This show is of particular significance as it allows the general public to attend, as opposed to being exclusive only to industry insiders, such as GDC and E3.
Typically the first two days are reserved for the industry insiders while the last two days [Weekend] are open to the public, allowing you to experience the show for yourself without being held back by work commitments. So as long as you can afford the plane ticket and hotel cost, you may attend the best gaming convention there is! Hope to see you there.
