Destiny PS4 beta confusion – NOT open to all PlayStation Plus subscribers

Having confirmed to PSU that Destiny PS4 beta codes would only be available to those who pre-order Destiny’s new shooter, Activision then revealed that PlayStation Plus subscribers will also be able to get in on the action.

On the official PlayStation blog this week, Sony Computer Entertainment confirmed the July round-up of PlayStation Plus titles for the Instant Game Collection, but also revealed this snippet of information that was sure to delight PS4 owners, temporarily.

"Hi everyone. I hope you’ve recovered from the excitement of E3 and are ready for an epic July. Not only are we bringing you a great mix of games but there’s also the Destiny beta, which kicks off on 17th July exclusively on PlayStation," Sony wrote.

"If you’re a PlayStation Plus member you will be able to fully experience Destiny and its incredible multiplayer. And if you’re not? Well, what are you waiting for, sign up now!"

However, PlayStation Community Manager Chris Owen has taken to Twitter to reveal that it was mistake and it will NOT be available to PlayStation Plus members.
