DRIVECLUB install size revealed, PlayStation Plus edition won’t feature pre-loading

Evolution Studios’ upcoming driving simulator DRIVECLUB has had its install size revealed, and it’s not as daunting as many had predicted.

Speaking on his personal Twitter account, DRIVECLUB’S director Paul Rustchynsky announced that the install stands at a rather paltry 17GB, a far cry from many other triple-A titles that sometimes require two-times the amount of space to run.

Rustchynsky also took the time to reply to fans questioning the game’s purported loading times by saying that they’re 10-or-less seconds on a stock HDD, something that’s quite miraculous given the game’s compression. There must be something in the water over at the studio’s Cheshire-based headquarters – and we’re not complaining one bit.

DRIVECLUB is set to release on October 7 in North America, with a special PlayStation Plus edition free to users who avail of Sony’s subscription-based service. You can also transfer your progress to that of the full game and the former will not be eligible for pre-loading.
