Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition will feature an impressive array of enhancements over its last-generation counterpart, Square Enix has revealed.
The publishing giant today unveiled a slew of new details on the next-generation version of the action-adventure title, confirming the addition of high-resolution textures, improved draw distance, and volumetric fog.
It’s not just the game’s aesthetics that have received an overhaul, either. Developer United Front Games has also applied various tweaks to Sleeping Dogs’ physics, vehicles, and camera, though details remain under wraps right now.
As you’d expect, the game will run at 1080p, as previously confirmed by Square Enix.
Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition will be released on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One in October.
The game was originally released for PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2012, and started out life as True Crime: Hong Kong before becoming a brand new franchise. A sequel, Sleeping Dogs: Triad Wars, is currently in development, though not much is known about the game at present.
