Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare PS4 runs at 1080p, dev admits it was ‘tough’ to get game on next-gen formats

The developer behind Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare has admitted it had a “tough” job getting the military shooter on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms.

Speaking during a Reddit AMA session, Glen Schofield and Michael Condrey, Co-Founders of Sledgehammer Games, also revealed that the PS4 version of the FPS runs at 1080p, among some other tantalizing tidbits.

“Just getting the game onto next gen platforms was tough. All new engine and tech, learning our way around that was time consuming but that’s where the three years came in handy,” said Schofield

The duo also confirmed that the shooter runs at a native 1080p, although the Xbox One edition dynamically scales to 1080p from 1360×1080.

Apparently, the studio isn’t ruling out an option for a third-person perspective, as it’s been featured in past games.

Condrey added that Advanced Warfare is a “true next-gen experience,” and is proud of various additions to the game, such as Supply Drop Loot, Virtual Lobby, Create an Operator, and Virtual Firing Range.
