Metal Gear Solid mastermind Hideo Kojima has dropped what looks to be the first big gaming-related announcement of 2015 by teasing a sequel to the much-loved Metal Gear spin-off, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.
Emerging with a single, solitary image displaying the number ‘2’ in Metal Gear Rising’s prominent font in a PlayStation 4 lineup trailer at this year’s Taipei Game Show, all signs point towards a sequel to the Platinum Games-developed hack-n’-slasher which set gaming pulses live back when it released in 2013.
No concrete details have been shared at this stage, but we’ll update the article accordingly to keep PSU readers informed.
Kojima-San had previously mentioned – as far back as early 2013 – that he would welcome a sequel to the critically-acclaimed Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, adding that he also hoped that developer Platinum Games would once again be at the helm. Kojima-San also offered to help write the story, with the aim of having cyborg-ninja Gray Fox as the game’s lead protagonist.
In the meantime before a full disclosure from Kojima himself, why don’t you read our original review of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance – and find out why there’s reason to be excited for a sequel.
