The rumour that Helldivers will be the free PS4 game for PlayStation Plus members in March 2015 has been debunked by developer Arrowhead Game Studios.
Helldivers launches on PS4, PS3 and PS Vita on March 3, which coincides with the launch of free games for PS Plus members, but during a Reddit AMA session, designer Patrik Losato confirmed that the title will not be part of March’s Instant Game Collection offer.
"I know there was a lot of hype for us being the PlayStation Plus title for March, but unfortunately that is not the case. I’m sure you will receive an equally awesome game, tough I have a hard time seeing any other game being as awesome as Helldivers"
In the same interview, Losato confirmed that Helldivers, which is available as a cross-buy, cross-save and cross-chat title across the three PlayStation platforms, will run at 1080p with a target frame-rate of 60 FPS. Meanwhile, we’ll have to just wait for the PS Plus line-up for March 2015, which should be announced any day now.
"We’re still finalising details," said PlayStation Blog manager Fred Dutton on Twitter this week.
