The development team behind the Soul Calibur franchise has hinted that a sixth instalment in the long-running fighting game series is in the works.

Project Soul has asked fans on Facebook to name their favorite character out of a selected 45 combatants to help shape the future of the series. Here's the text in full:
“VOTE FOR THE FUTURE OF SOULCALIBUR
Calling all SoulCalibur Fans! Project Soul would like to hear your voice.
They need to determine precisely who are the favorite characters of the community!
Beware, you can vote only once so choose carefully and wisely.
You still have time to think about it as this survey will last until May 31st.”
If that wasn't enough to hint that the studio is working on a new instalment in the series, Project Soul caps off its Facebook post with the following:
“Project Soul is probably preparing something huge… Stay tuned and spread the news! Thank you”
Given that it's been three years since the last entry in the Soul Calibur series was released---not counting the re-release of Soul Calibur II---it's entirely possibly that Project Soul is gearing up to announce SC6 at E3 or the Tokyo Game Show.
