IGN has reported that the PS4 version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, due out on May 19, suffers from some notable performance issues in regards to traversing the game’s expansive open-world.
The site’s review of the hotly anticipated fantasy-RPG title states that even at 30fps, the game was unable to escape some noticeable dips in performance.
Said the reviewer: "The one caveat on all that though, is the technical performance on the PS4 version I played for review. 30 frames per second was sometimes too much to ask, transitions between The Witcher 3’s two main maps are just a bit too long, and minor glitches do pop up from time to time. None of it ever impacted gameplay in any meaningful way, thought it did compromise the beauty of the experience ever so slightly."
PSU’s review is currently in the works so we’ll be able to tell you for sure just how the PS4 version performs. Stay tuned until then.
