Devil May Cry series producer, Hideaki Itsuno, has revealed that the action-adventure franchise may not continue unless the upcoming Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition performs well at retail.
Speaking during a new interview posted on Capcom Japan’s official website (via GeekSnack), Itsuno-san remained unsure about the series’ future, but said that sales of DMC4 Special Edition will be paramount to securing its future.
As such, he encourages fans to support the forthcoming PlayStation 4 and Xbox One release if they want to see more of Devil May Cry.
He also revealed that the game will be coming with a special survey to garner fan feedback on the title, so it’s important you let Capcom know what you think of the remaster.
Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition includes remastered visuals and a host of new playable characters, such as fan favorites Trish and Vergil. Check out some screenshots of the game in action here.
The game will be released on June 23 and is due to appear at E3 next week.
