The CEO of Square Enix has reiterated that the Japanese giant is still targeting a simultaneous global release for the hotly anticipated JRPG, Final Fantasy XV.
Yosuke Matsuda made the comments during the latest issue of Famitsu magazine (via Nova Crystallis), and echos comments from FFXV’s director, Hajime Tabata, who revealed plans for a global launch back in January of this year.
Not only that, but Matsuda-san revealed that more info on the game’s global launch will be divulged soon. FFXV has already been confirmed to appear at Gamescom 2015, so there’s a chance we’ll hear something then.
FFXV is due out on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and started out life as Final Fantasy Versus XIII; a PS3-exclusive that was initially announced nine years ago at E3 2006. The game was re-revealed at Sony’s E3 2015 presser after a period of long silence.
A playable demo of the game was featured in the PS4 and Xbox One release, Final Fantasy Type-0 HD, with an updated version hitting in June.
