Square Enix has no plans to release both Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX and Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX on PlayStation 4, series director Tetsuya Nomura has said.
Speaking with Ruliweb (translated by KH13), Nomura-san acknowledged the multitude of fan requests for a current-generation version of the HD remasters, but made it clear there’s no plans to bring them to PS4.
“Recently, we also received a significant increase in requests for the Kingdom Hearts 1.5 Remix and Kingdom Hearts 2.5 Remix to be released on the PS4. Unfortunately, we don’t have any plans for that.”
Nomura-san is busy working on the chapter in the series, Kingdom Hearts III, for the PS4 and Xbox One. No release date has been given as of yet, although the development team are well aware of when the title will launch.
The director recently issued a development update on the project, and confirmed that the game will not featue any QTEs. Kingdom Hearts III will feature a seamless world with very few loading times.
