Capcom is currently working on a fifth instalment in its venerable hack’-n-slash Devil May Cry series, accordings to murmurs originating from Gameblog.fr.
The French publication notes that a number of independent sources have confirmed to the site that Devil May Cry 5 is indeed in the pipeline, though didn’t go into any further details on the subject.
However, speculation regarding Dante’s return has gathered pace following actors Johnny Yong Bosch and Reuben Langdon, who portray Nero and Dante, respectively, posted a snapshot of the pair in motion-capture suits on Facebook (via Twinfinite).

That too was spruced up for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in the shape of DmC: Devil May Cry Definitive Edition in early 2015, though an all-new entry in the franchise continues to remain elusive.
Devil May Cry was released on the PlayStation 2 back in 2001, and was followed two years later by the decidedly underwhelming Devil May Cry 2. Fortunately, Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s Awakening revived the series, with a fourth outing following on PS3 and Xbox 360 in early 2008.
Could we potentially see a new Devil May Cry announced this year? We’ve got our fingers crossed.
