The upcoming PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Resident Evil 6 will run at a native 1080p/60fps, publisher Capcom has announced.
Writing on NeoGAF, Capcom’s Senior Director of Digital Platforms also revealed that the visual fidelity of the current-generation editions of the action-horror sequel will match the PC version. In addition, it’ll also include The Mercenaries: No Mercy for the first time on home consoles.
As one would expect, Resi 6 on PS4 will feature all available DLC, which includes new maps and new character costumes.
Resident Evil 6 will hit PS4 and Xbox One on March 29, and will be followed by current-gen ports of Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 4 in summer and fall 2016, respectively. The game was originally released in October 2012 for PS3, PC and Xbox 360, and received polarizing reviews from critics and players alike.
The game builds on the co-op function seen in Resi 5, with players able to experience three scenarios connected by an overarching narrative. Leon S. Kennedy, Sherry Birkin and Chris Redfield return in the sequel alongside newcomers Jake, Piers and Helena, with each of the three main characters offering a unique campaign that recalls elements of old-school Resi to the more action-oriented sequels of recent years.
