Guerrilla Games’ Herman Hulst has championed the PS4 Pro edition of its upcoming open-world adventure, Horizon: Zero Dawn, stating Sony’s new hardware “takes the experience to the next level.”
Horizon was showcased during the PlayStation Meeting yesterday evening running on the PS4 Pro, although Hulst said during a livestream after the event (via GamingBolt) that the regular version of the game will still look great.
He pointed out that while the PS4 Pro version offers enhanced resolution and frame rate, Guerrilla still has time to polish the standard edition to ensure that both versions look great for Horizon’s launch in February 2017.
Horizon: Zero Dawn is a brand new IP that sees players exploring a post-apocalyptic world inhabited by mechanical behemoths. Gamers control a lone hunter named Aloy, who must brave the wastelands to battle her robotic adversaries and salvage their vital components to survive.
The game was originally due out this holiday season, but was pushed back to February 28, 2017 in North America and March 2 in the U.K.
PS4 Pro release date and price confirmed at PlayStation Meeting
Sony confirmed during a special event in New York City last night that PS4 Pro will launch on November 10, priced at $399/£349. The console affords improved visual fidelity, such as HDR technology, plus the CPU clock has been buffed to allow for improved framerates.
