[UPDATE] Battlefield 1 server status: PS4 multiplayer down

UPDATE: 31 October,2016 at 2.45pm BST:  Connection to the EA servers are down for many at the moment with a spike of reports starting from 2pm onwards.  EA Support has yet to respond. Stay tuned.

UPDATE: 30 October, 2016 at 1.45pm BST: Battlefield 1 and FIFA 17 servers are currently down with both connection and stat-loading issues for many players worldwide. The latest tweet from EA Support was four hours ago, where there were also issues with the Battlefield network. Those problems were apparently resolved, but this is a fresh batch of reports.There’s also some reports that users have had their levels reset in the last 24 hours. More news as we get it.

UPDATE 7.40pm BST: EA believes that the server issues are due to a widespread DDoS attack on the DNS service provider Dyn today, which has saw multiple web services affected.

UPDATE 6.20pm BST:  The Battlefield 1 servers are still down for many with no indication of when they’ll be back online. There’s also issues with FIFA 17. The latest tweet from EA Sports reads:

Looks like there’s a few issues today for PS4 gamers as not only is the PSN down, but EA servers are currently inaccessible too.

That doesn’t bode well for the launch of Battlefield 1, EA’s World War 1 shooter, which was released today.

The Battlefield 1 beta didn’t have much luck either, with a DDoS attack bringing the game to its knees. There’s currently no news on whether EA are facing a similar hacking attempt.

Reports that the EA servers have been down began at around 2pm BST, though it could be relating overall to the issues with the PlayStation Network.
