IGN has posted up an unboxing video of the upcoming Resident Evil 7: biohazard Collector’s Edition.

As previously confirmed, the U.S. edition of the Collector’s Edition features a replica Baker mansion which also functions as a music box, plus you get a VHS box, a creepy note reading ‘I shall dash YOU against the stones’, a Lithograph, and a steelbook copy of the game itself.

Capcom has set a Resident Evil 7 release date of January 24, 2017 for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One. The game will be fully playable with PlayStation VR from start to finish, a feature which will remain exclusive to Sony’s console for one year. Those of you who fancy taking the game for a spin now should download the Resident Evil 7 demo from the PlayStation Store, which has been updated to include both PS4 Pro and PSVR support.

Resident Evil 7 takes place four years after the events of its Michael Bay-esque predecessor, with gamers taking control of newcomer Ethan Winters as he searches a mysterious plantation mansion for his missing wife, Mia. The game employs a first-person perspective and channels classic survival horror tropes in an attempt to bring Resi back to its roots.

Capcom celebrated Resident Evil 7’s 20th anniversary this year with a series of developer diaries, as well as porting over Resident Evil 4-6 for PS4 and Xbox One. The Japanese software giant is also working on a Resident Evil 2 remake, although nothing has been shown on the title since its announcement in August 2015.
