Resident Evil 7 takes place four years after the events of its Michael Bay-esque predecessor, with gamers taking control of newcomer Ethan Winters as he searches a mysterious plantation mansion for his missing wife, Mia. The game employs a first-person perspective and channels classic survival horror tropes in an attempt to bring Resi back to its roots.
Capcom celebrated Resident Evil 7’s 20th anniversary this year with a series of developer diaries, as well as porting over Resident Evil 4-6 for PS4 and Xbox One. The Japanese software giant is also working on a Resident Evil 2 remake, although nothing has been shown on the title since its announcement in August 2015.
