Resident Evil 7 hits PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One tomorrow, January 24, 2017. The game is fully compatible with PlayStation VR from start to finish, which Capcom says offers a substantial step up from the bog-standard TV experience. Unlike previous mainline Resi titles, this seventh numbered installment takes place from a first-person perspective and focuses on a return to the series’ horror roots, a directly largely influenced by feedback from Resi 6.
Resident Evil 7 takes place four years after its action-packed predecessor, and sees newcomer Ethan Winters exploring a seemingly abandoned plantation mansion in Louisiana for his missing wife, Mia. The game will be supplemented by a series of DLC, including a free story-based chapter, Not a Hero, in spring 2017.
