Just when you thought Rocket League couldn't reach any more dizzying heights it has today been announced that the vehicular soccer game has surpassed 30 million players worldwide.
Announced via the game's official Twitter and with a renowned reference to the in-game chat feature of 'Wow!', the news comes as no surprise considering the staying power the game has shown since its release as a PlayStation Plus freebie in July of 2015.
It's remarkable, really, from a humble preview at the preceding E3 to global domination up until the present day, developer Psyonix Studios has gone from strength to strength with the expansion of new modes and a move into eSports.
It's also been announced that the game is going to see a release in China and will be published by Tencent, the gargantuan Chinese investment holding company whose subsidiaries include Riot Games, Supercell, and Epic Games – not to mention a slew of e-commerce technologies, web portals, etc.
Basically it's the largest gaming company in the world – with a market value of $279 billion – so you can expect Rocket League to continue its meteoric ascent into the East.
