A European retailer has leaked an as-yet unannounced Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy special edition to accompany the standard version of the Vicarious Visions-developed collection this summer.

According to the listing, the special edition of the three-game bundle will include extras such as a Steelbook case that is designed to resemble a wooden box complete with signature Crash design. Publisher Activision has yet to confirm any plans for a special edition release of Crash’s PS4 debut, although it’s not unusual for retailers to leak these things ahead of a formal reveal.

Sony recently confirmed a Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy release date of June 30, 2017. The collection was announced at E3 2016 amidst rumors of a revival for the long-time Sony mascot, and features remastered version of three classic PSOne titles: Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back, and Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped. Despite reports to the contrary, it appears the collection will indeed be a PS4-exclusive release, at least according to PlayStation U.K.

Crash Bandicoot was synonymous with the PlayStation brand back in the mid-late 90s, with the original game often touted as Sony’s answer to a certain Italian plumber. Naughty Dog worked on the original trilogy of Crash games for the PSOne, as well as heading up the celebrated spinoff, Crash Team Racing, before the series transitioned into multiplatform territory with various other studios at the helm.

Be sure to check out the latest gameplay footage of Crash’s PS4-powered overhaul and stay tuned for more info on the Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy special edition as we get it. Hopefully we’ll get an official announcement in the not-too-distant future.
