Naughty Dog is celebrating a decade of Nathan Drake this winter, with Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune passing its 10th anniversary yesterday, having first launched on PlayStation 3 on November 19, 2007.
To mark the occasion, the California-based developer is kicking off a month-long celebration, complete with free goodies and a special Uncharted 10th Anniversary panel at the PlayStation Experience 2017 in December.
First up, players can grab a special Uncharted 10th Anniversary PS4 theme, which is available until 8.00am PST tomorrow. In addition, Sony’s misbehaving pooch is offering an Uncharted 10th Anniversary skin pack for Uncharted 4 and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy until Dec. 19.
Rounding off the celebrations will be a full life size replica of Nate’s attic on the PSX show floor, along with a special retrospective panel featuring members of the Uncharted voice cast. This will be held on December 9 at 5.00pm PST.
The Uncharted franchise has remained one of Sony’s most popular first-party series since its inception, selling over 30 million units worldwide. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End remains the best-selling instalment in the franchise, with over 8.7 million sales.
Naughty Dog bid farewell to the series earlier year with the release of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. However, the Santa Monica studio has not ruled out the possibility of an Uncharted 5 down the line, and reckons the franchise has legs without Drake taking centre stage.
In the meantime, an Uncharted movie is currently in the pipeline with Tom Holland (Spider-Man Homecoming) taking the lead role.
