2K Games has finally announced a firm release date for the hotly anticipated BioShock on PlayStation 3.
The title — which was hugely successful on Xbox 360 and PC — will debut on PS3 on October 21 in North America. Fortunately, Europeans will only have to wait three more days until October 24 to get their hands on it as well.
"We are proud to introduce 2K Games’ showcase title, BioShock, to an entirely new audience," said Christoph Hartmann, President of 2K Games. "With the addition of the new Add-On Game Content we are able to extend the award-winning adventure while maintaining the perfect harmony that millions of players around the world have fallen in love with."
BioShock on PS3 won’t simply be a port of the Xbox 360 version released last year. It’ll feature all-new challenge rooms, as well as Trophy support and all of the downloadable content that has been released for the 360 version. 2K Games used its regional studios as well as Digital Extremes of Dark Sector fame to bring the title to Sony’s machine. We’ll have a review for you closer to launch.
