Media Molecule’s Alex Evans labelled LittleBigPlanet 2’s ability to allow players to cobble together their own game types as “so f*cking insanely powerful it hurts." Yup, we’re pretty excited about it too, as it happens.
The SackBoy sequel will allow players to craft their own genres, and as a result won’t be limited to platforming antics as with its predecessor. As a result, expect to churn out puzzlers, shooters and racing offerings among others.
Speaking to the chaps at EDGE, Evans commented, "This was originally going to be the one feature in LBP2," adding, “This is so f**king insanely powerful it hurts."
Game director Mark Healey also chimed in, explaining the new SixAxis Direct Control Seat: “It allows you to invent your own control systems, essentially," he said. "It means you can pretty much make any 2D game you can think of. I’ve even thought of faking some 3D games."
Keep your eyes peeled for more LittleBigPlanet 2 coverage here at PSU in the coming weeks.
