The British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) announced today that it has issued Rockstar’s forthcoming Grand Theft Auto IV with an 18 rating, confirming no cuts have been made to the final product.
“This work was passed with no cuts made,” the company said on its official website, confirming that the game will arrive on retail stores with all content intact.
Unsurprisingly, the listing revealed that the highly anticipated crime romp would contain an excessive amount of adult material, “including references to strong sexual behaviour.”
"During gameplay the character can pick up prostitutes… What follows is an un-detailed portrayal of masturbation, fellatio and intercourse. The character can also visit lap dancing clubs and request a private dance. While the game contains sexualised dancing and the portrayal of sex, there is no sexualised nudity,”
Grand Theft Auto IV is due out later this month on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Stay tuned for our review here at PSU in the near future.
