Movies based on video games are notoriously bad, which was why when Max Payne was announced as being turned into a film, not many people listened.
However, when Mark Wahlberg was announced as playing Mr. Payne himself, heads started to turn, and when Ewe Bol’s name DIDN’T come up, people started to care.
Well, the script by Beau Thorne is done and filming is set to start on March 2nd in Toronto. The film is being directed by John Moore, the man who brought you Behind Enemy Lines, The Omen (remake), and Flight of the Phoenix.
For those of you who may not know the Max Payne series, the story unfolds as a cop comes home to find his family murdered and a long line of twists and turns he must go through to discover who is at fault and take his revenge. It is definitely worthy of a film adaptation, let’s just hope they adapt it well.
