PSU had the opportunity to sit down and interview General Manager and Co-Founder of Sledgehammer Games, Glen Schofield, at the Call of Duty XP event in Los Angeles last weekend. Needless to say, the talented creator of Dead Space had a few interesting things to say about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, and where the story arc was going with this latest entry.
“There’s a story that’s been told over the last two games, and we wanted to make sure that a big part of that story didn’t continue to linger, like here’s another cliff hanger, and another one, and another one,” said Schofield.
“We’re not ending the franchise, but we’re putting a nice conclusion on wrapping….we’re wrapping up the story.”
“But you know, we’re also introducing some new characters,” continued Schofield. “There’s Sandman, Frost, and Truck, who are members of an Elite Delta Force Team.”
Does this mean that fan-favorite characters like Soap, Price, and Makarov will see an end in Modern Warfare 3? Maybe. However, we can’t help but agree with Schofield that the story should wrap up, and maybe a new narrative should come into play after MW3 reaches its conclusion.
