Eager gamers who got their mitts on the PlayStation 3 version of Battlefield 3 following the shooter’s U.S. launch yesterday were puzzled to find that the game lacked a copy of Battlefield 1943.
Publisher Electronic Arts previously said at E3 that the PS3 version of the DICE-developed blaster would feature a free, platform-exclusive copy of Battlefield 1943. However, as consumers discovered yesterday, this is no longer the case.
Speaking on Twitter in response to the missing freebie, EA reiterated that PS3 owners will instead be getting Battlefield 3 DLC before any other version thanks to a timed-exclusivity deal.
"In lieu of 1943 being available on disk for PS3 customers, EA has made all BF3 expansions available early to PS3 customers," the publishing powerhouse said.
