Call of Duty Elite detailed, priced at $49.99 per year

During Activision’s press conference at Call of Duty XP, Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg detailed CoD Elite, the subscription-based service that will net you all incoming DLC for Call of Duty, as well as host multiple social networking features.

At $49.99 Call of Duty Elite will allow players a years worth of add-ons, which results in 20 pieces of downloadable content for Modern Warfare 3. This includes map packs, new spec ops missions, and even new modes.

"Elite members get all the content, they get it first, and get it more often," Hirshberg said on stage.

Over the course of a nine month period, Elite members will be able to download new content monthly, and before non-Elite players.

Additionally, a plethora of social networking and extra features will be included in CoD Elite, such as the ability to create, and level up clans, facebook integration, global player statistics, video replays, and much much more. Elite even goes as far as including episodic TV content from Ridley Scott, Will Arnett, Micheal Bateman, and more.

Elite subscribers will also be given to option to take the Elite experience with them on mobile devices, with Android and iOS apps, allowing players to customize loadouts, and do research on the go.

It was also announced that Elite subscriptions will be packaged in the “Hardened” version of Modern Warfare 3.

Expect Call of Duty Elite to roll out at the same time as Modern Warfare 3, on November 8.
