Esteemed developer Hideo Kojima has said he has no intention of retiring from the industry, and wants to continue making games until the day he dies.
Kojima’s Metal Gear franchise celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, prompting Eurogamer to ask the legendary dev if he reckons he’ll still be working on the series in another 25 years.
"Honestly, I really don’t know in 25 years from now if I’ll still be making Metal Gear, or even if Konami will still be around – I really can’t say," he said.
"But I can say that if I’m not dead by that time I will still be making games in some form. I don’t have any intention of retiring – until the day I die I will be making games.”
"Maybe by that time technology will be so advanced that I can make a game all by myself by using a bunch of robots," he added. "Who knows?"
Kojima is currently working on a new title by the name of Project Ogre, which will take advantage of his studio’s new Fox Engine.
