Hideo Kojima reveals new game engine

Hideo Kojima didn’t have any new games to show during Konami’s pre-E3 event, but he did drop some interesting news about his new Fox Engine, a multiplatform development tool being developed in house. Development on the engine began soon after the team finished Metal Gear Solid 4 and it appears the engine will work on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.

The tool should give the team shorter development windows and an easier time porting titles as needed, Kojima said. There wasn’t much news regarding Metal Gear Solid: Rising, but it also sounds like Kojima’s new game may get a reveal at E3 (2012, sorry).
