Hideo Kojima has indicated his new, as yet unannounced project will tackle several real-life ‘taboo’ issues.
While not much is known about the mysterious title at present, this isn’t the first time Kojima-san has mentioned the word ‘taboo’ when describing his new game, though was quick to point out that his ideas may not make the final cut.
Speaking in a recent Q&A, the developer said: "The game I’m working on right now is dealing with quite a few issues that are pretty delicate and taboo", adding its part of an effort to "bring those real-life issues to the forefront."
"I’m not sure if they’ll end up being in the final product or not, but that’s something that I want to continue to strive for," Kojima added.
Elsewhere, the Kojima Productions boss revealed he had visited a San Diego military base to test out a shooting simulator, though kept much of the details of that exploit close to his chest.
Of course, the esteemed developer wouldn’t clarify exactly what game he was talking about. Kojima is known to be working on a game codenamed Project Ogre, though there have also been murmurs of a new entry in the Metal Gear Solid franchise.
Regardless of the identity of the new game, however, it has been confirmed it’ll utilize Kojima Productions’ new Fox Engine.
