Hideo Kojima has admitted his studio doesn’t currently possess enough manpower to produce Zone of the Enders 3.
Despite this, Kojima reiterated that he still wants to get the game made, and feels the shiny new Fox Engine would be ideal for the project.
Speaking to GamerFitNation at the Spike VGAs over the weekend, Kojima commented, "We want to make that game as well, the only thing is that we don’t have staff who are able to work on that game.”
"We have an environment where we could work on it using the Fox Engine. If we had staff available to work on that game, we would like to."
First unveiled at E3, the Fox Engine has been in development since Kojima Productions completed work on Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots for PlayStation 3 back in 2008.
The engine will facilitate “shortened development time” for “multiplatform” games, and Kojima’s got his sights set on making the engine the “best in the world.”
Kojima Productions will release HD revamps of Zone of the Enders and Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner for PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2012.
