Rockstar has confirmed that gamers who cobble together crews in Max Payne 3’s multiplayer component via Social Club will be able to carry their creations over to Grand Theft Auto V.
Speaking with IGN, Dan Houser, co-founder of Rockstar and co-writer of GTA V, said this feature allows crews to be playable in the open-world crime opus from day one.
“By creating crews through Social Club, the crews that you create in Max Payne 3 will be ready and available for you to play in Grand Theft Auto V from day one,” said Houser.
“It’s all part of our larger approach to make multiplayer deeper and richer than what’s currently available, much more easily accessible to the newcomer and rewarding for the hardcore.”
“We made a promise not to talk too much about forthcoming games until a little further down the track but, yes, crews will feature in Grand Theft Auto V multiplayer.”
Grand Theft Auto V has yet to attract a release date, though further details are expected in the coming months. The game was officially unveiled via a teaser trailer in November 2011.
Max Payne 3 meanwhile hits PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360 in May 2012.
