NPD’s sales figures for August are in, and without Madden NFL 12 to get in its way, Deus Ex: Human Revolution snags the top spot, followed swiftly by NCAA Football 12 and Call of Duty: Black Ops.
Many of the other titles that appear on this month’s figures would suggest parents are buying games to keep their children entertained during the summer, with titles such as Cars 2 and LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game.
August is quite often regarded as a dry month for games sales, dominated by the yearly iteration Madden NFL. However, this year is different, with Madden NFL being pushed back due to the threat of the NFL Lockout.
Here is the top ten list for August software sales:
