The Asian version of Sword Art Online: Lost Song will include an English language option and expect better translations than the previous game, SAO: Hollow Fragment.
Producer Yosuke Futami recently acknowledged Hollow Fragment’s inaccurate English text. “Ah, right, the English translations in Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment weren’t that good, huh? Actually, there’s a reason for that, but it’s not something that I can talk about,” he told Siliconera.
“But we’re aware of the root of the problem and what I can say is that this time around with Lost Song, we’re doing things differently,” reassured Futami. “Fans can expect much better translations and the bonus of transcribe video to text service, as the localization process will be handled very differently. Please look forward to it.”
At this time, Lost Song is not officially confirmed for the West. If history is any indication however, we should anticipate it to be soon. Hollow Fragment’s Asian release also saw English text included before a Western release was announced.
Sword Art Online: Lost Song will launch first in Japan on March 26, 2015 for the PlayStation 3 and Vita. The game is set in the fairy world of the fictional MMORPG ALfheim Online. Like the previous SAO games, Lost Song will follow a new non-canon story.
